Frequently asked questions

  • How much will it cost to photograph our wedding?

The cost to photograph your wedding is £1000.

This includes 12 hours coverage of your day from morning until night. If you need a bespoke quote I'll be more than happy to discuss this with you.

  • Do you have insurance?

Absolutely. I have full public liability & professional indemnity insurance.

  • How many photos will we receive?

I can never place an exact figure on this but around 300-400.

  • When will we receive our photos?

I aim to have your photos edited and uploaded to your secure online gallery for download within four weeks after your wedding. This is the perfect place to download and share the memories of your day with all your family and friends.

  • How many photos will be in black & white / colour?

I’m a fan of black & white wedding photography and around 60%-70% of your day will be recorded in this format. Take a look at my wedding gallery to get an idea of what to expect.

  • Do you take group shots?

Yes, I always take a few group shots of immediate family. I find that 10 minutes is usually enough to cover this part of the day . My group shots are very relaxed unlike the traditional ones we all remember!

  • Will you take posed photos of us signing the marriage register or cutting the cake?

Absolutely not! I will only take those photos as they actually happen. Nothing staged or cringeworthy.

  • Do we need to provide you with a meal?

No, your wedding is expensive enough without having to feed the photographer too! All I ask is that you notify me if food cannot be purchased at your venue and I will bring my own.

  • Where are you based?

Although I am a Lanarkshire wedding photographer I can easily cover weddings in Ayrshire, Glasgow, Edinburgh & the Lothians, Fife, Tayside and Scottish Borders. I can also photograph your wedding even if your venue is further afield throughout Scotland or the UK.

If I need to drive for more than 90 minutes, an overnight stay will be required which will incur an additional charge. Don’t worry, I won’t ask to stay in fancy accommodation but it's important for both of us that I arrive fresh and ready to go for your wedding.

  • We’re ready to book, what do we do next?

If you think I’m the photographer for you then please send me an email with the date and venue of your wedding to check I’m available first. After we’ve had a chat and we’re good to go, I’ll ask you to confirm the details in a signed agreement together with a deposit.
