Childhood moves quickly.
Photographs help you hold onto it.
Relaxed family photography across Edinburgh,
The Lothians and Scottish Borders
No pressure &
no forced smiles
Most parents hesitate to book a photo session because they’re worried their child won’t sit still, won’t smile, or will feel overwhelmed.
I get it.
If your child needs time to warm up, we take it.
If they want to explore, that’s part of the session.
If they need a break, we pause.
There’s no expectation for constant engagement as some of the strongest images come from the quiet moments in between.
The session lasts around an hour and can take place either at your home or at an outdoor location.
Afterwards you’ll receive a private online gallery where you can view the edited photographs. Most of the images are presented in black and white, with a small selection in colour where it feels appropriate.
The session includes five high-resolution images, with the option to purchase additional photographs or framed fine art prints if you wish.
April & May availability is open.
I work with a limited number of families each month to keep things calm and unhurried.

FAQs
Who are these sessions for ?
These sessions are a good fit if:
have a child who is energetic, shy, sensitive, or likes to explore
prefer honest images over perfectly posed ones
want photographs that feel calm, soulful and real
What if my child doesn’t want to cooperate
Children don’t need to behave in a particular way for these sessions to work. If they want to explore, be quiet, or take their time, that’s absolutely fine.
In fact, those moments often lead to the most meaningful images.
My child finds new people overwhelming, will that be a problem?
Not at all. I work calmly, without rushing or directing. I give children space and time, and I don’t push for engagement.
Do adults need to be in the
photos?
Only if you’d like to be. Some sessions focus entirely on the child, while others include siblings, carers, or the whole family. There’s no expectation, I’ll work in whatever way feels most comfortable for you!
Are these sessions suitable for neurodivergent children?
Yes. My approach is gentle, flexible, and pressure free. If there’s anything helpful for me to know in advance, you’re welcome to share but there’s no obligation.

You don’t need to know exactly what to ask. Short messages are absolutely fine and no pressure to book.
